MeowWare

You play as a cat whose primary goal is to crash a website through a DDoS attack, thereby successfully taking control of human beings.

 

This game was created with the theme compound in mind, which our team approached by considering the term's definition: "make (something bad) worse; intensify the negative aspects of." By hacking more and more devices, we are essentially crashing the system, thus exacerbating our situation. Our game also used the definition "make up (a composite whole); constitute", where the hacked devices (zombies) essentially constitute as a whole army for the cat to use. 

This game is still very much in development. Originally, there were more upgrades; however, we did not have enough time. We also wanted to have emojis to constitute common phrases (using the definition "a thing that is composed of two or more separate elements; a mixture"), but we ran out of time for that as well. Finally, the game was supposed to have more upgrades other than hacking devices (such as a base attack and an amplifier for the attack to make the site crash faster), but it was a 3-day game jam, and we ran out of time. :/
